Animating Me

I'm Ana, I have 29 and I'm currently working as a CG artist on a small animation studio at Guadalajara, we are working on the firts feature film.

I have been fasinated with colors and forms and movement since I remember, I grew up with tons of diferent animated movies from Disney Classics to Russian Stop Motion and I loved it but I didn't realized I wanted to do that for a living. In fact, I didn't thought I could.

School for me was a challenge and drawing was always there for me, so as the stories in my head.
I have a whole world that wants to come out; therefore I got interested in a lot of things like, writing, drawing, painting, dancing, making puppets, taking pictures, theater... experimenting with flash at school was one of the things I enjoyed a lot and then there at my senior year of Graphic Desing I was formally introduced to aniamtion. I had a class where I actually experimented animation; I mean it was really basic but still that was it for me, I knew that was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life cause I had it al toghether art, drawing, color, expression, movement, sound, storytelling...

So that year began my journey to become a animator; I made my research on what where the posibilities and one of the most challenging things, tell my parents (they really didn't liked the idea at first, they where worried for my future but now they are 100% supportive) so I worked 2 years as a Graphics Designer and on that time I was mostly on the webpages area then I had the opportunity to study animation in Barcelona Spain, I was so excited to travel and study animation (I'm really a lucky girl) unfortunately animation was the less on that program; I learned a lot of 3d stuff though and I traveled; seeing all that culture was so great.
It was a time full of amaizing art and color. (There I knew about The 11 second club and AM and I became a fan).

Back home, I got a job as a assistant at a University and it was fine but I wanted to feel that great energy that a felt when I was creating something, it makes me feel alive. One day I had the opportunity I was looking for when the Studio I'm right now ( http://en.kaxangames.com/ ) opened a call to participate in a big short film project, 52 shortfilm in one year, with a lot of people and the important thing 'Training', I got few classes with Rusty Mills and Jason Ryan came for a masterclass weekend, It was awsome!! But at that point I struggled becuase I managed to move some characters but they where far from being alive and this is the thing for me I really want to be able to express, make a believable character that thinks, has doubts, enjoys, feels and I've seen what amazing things students from AM acomplish so I got loans and finally I'm On Animation Mentor Class 1    (ahhh!! feels like a Dream)... looking forward to keep learning, make friends, maybe get to make living characters and hopefully some day make my stories come true.

If you've got this far reading wow!! Thanks a lot! Hope some of these is usefull...

I love Hasy... BTW :3
